The world-renowned Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli, shared the spotlight with his son, Matteo Bocelli, as they sang the Italian version of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect.”

Even though the father and son have been classically trained, it doesn’t mean that they couldn’t do a superb performance in singing modern pop songs.

“Perfect” is undoubtedly one of Sheeran’s greatest hits by far and for his album, “Divide,” he decided to do a collaboration with Andrea. They translated some parts of the lyrics and put a classical twist to it. Thus, the song “Perfect Symphony” was born.

Matteo matched Sheeran’s pop-influenced voice and sang his parts during the first verse and the chorus. Afterward, Andrea took the stage as he performed the rest of the song in Italian.

The duet was not the first one for Andrea and Matteo. The father and son had already collaborated and worked together on Andrea’s single, “Fall On Me,” in the past.

Matteo’s brother, Amos Bocelli, was also featured in Andrea’s new album as he played the piano.

Meanwhile, speaking about his collaboration with Sheeran, Andrea revealed he wasn’t quite sure at first since he wasn’t familiar with Sheeran. Although, he shared that his two sons were big fans of the “Perfect” singer, which helped convince him to collaborate.

Sheeran flew out to meet Andrea in his home in Tuscany, Italy, where they ended up recording the song.

Talking about the experience with Evening Standard, Andrea said, "The strange thing was that he really, really wanted me to sing on that particular song, with an operatic touch to it - something that he didn't think was actually feasible. But he was so determined that he came all the way to my house.”

In June 2018, Sheeran invited Andrea to one of his concerts at the Wembley Stadium in London, where they performed “Perfect Symphony” live for the first time.

Aside from Sheeran, Andrea made great hits collaborating with his fellow artists, including Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Josh Groban, and Celine Dion.
