Pierce Brosnan opened up about his new movie role, his singing and dancing and who he'd pick as the new James Bond. Brosnan, 65, who was once considered the most elegant and suave of all the James Bonds, has traded in his gun for a sequined leotard for the reprisal of his role in 'Mamma Mia 2," reported Daily Mail.

The original 'Mamma Mia" was a musical romantic comedy film which premiered in 2008, and was based on the 1999 musical of the same name, featuring the songs of successful pop group ABBA.

The film featured legendary actress and Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, and of course, Pierce Brosnan who got to sing on screen for the first time in his life.

Having set his 007 tux aside for spandex, Brosnan is still very involved with the role he played for so long. He believes the next man to play the mythical Bond should be a 'real' man.

‘I had a whole range, from sounding like a young Bruce Springsteen to one that said: “Pierce Brosnan couldn’t hold a note if it had the Queen’s head on it.” It made me laugh.'

So who would the ultimate Bond choose as Daniel Craig's replacement on the James Bond franchise? Brosnan's vote would go to Tom Hardy.

Hardy, 40, is an award-winning British actor who is best know to American audiences for his role in the western thriller The Revenant, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. Hardy was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Revenant.

James Bond is always played by a British actor, and Hardy would be joining an illustrious group of men: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

Brosnan embraced the first 'Mamma Mia' movie as a liberation from his Bond image, even though critics were pitiless in their assessment of his vocal talents. None the less, the movie was a resounding success, and ten years on, the sequel is about to be released.

Brosnan spoke about making the new movie and admitted that he is asked to do a lot less singing this time around.

The first Mamma Mia! cost £40 million to make and earned a whopping £465 million, and the second is expected to do just as well.

The sequel tells the core story of how Donna came to Greece and had her love affairs with her daughter's 3 'fathers'. A new character, Donna's selfish mother, is played by the ever-glamorous Cher.

Brosnan’s role as Sam Carmichael has him deepening his relationship with his daughter Sophie while recovering from a terrible tragedy. Fans are eager to see Brosnan singing and dancing again, and he promises they will not be disappointed.
