The First Lady of the United States showed her support for the national holiday recently. On Saint Patrick’s Day, she wore a dress that had all eyes on her.

The green dress stood out as she appeared by her husband’s side on March 15, 2018. Her look was elegant yet fitting for a first lady even though it was sleeveless according to Faith Family America.

On Saturday people from all around the globe celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. Every year, the White House celebrates by having several festivities leading up to the special holiday.

On Thursday, President Trump and First Lady Melania welcomed Ireland’s Prime Minister Leo Varadkar to the White House for a traditional celebration. They each posted about the occasion on social media.

All eyes were on Melania because of her striking fashion choices. This year she didn’t disappoint as she opted to put a twist on the classic St. Patrick’s Day look.

Varadkar’s ill-fated remarks about wind farms in Co Clare tried to steal the show in Washington, but Melania’s choice of green dress got tongues wagging too. Instead of wearing a solid color or something with sleeves, Melania wore a sleeveless dark green animal print dress.

According to Independent, the dress was reportedly made by designer Brandon Maxwell. The Irish Times reported that the mid-length dress was described on the Nieman Marcus website as a “silk blend, leopard print jacquard.”

The dress would cost $1,595 to own it. The FLOTUS wore a snakeskin heel to go along with her look and wore her hair down in soft curls.

The dress was a clear nod to the Irish people. Varadkar wore a green tie and both he and President Trump wore shamrocks in their lapels

This was Melania’s first wearing of the green for the annual St Patrick’s Day event

She did not appear at the bowl of shamrock event with Enda Kenny last year. On Saturday, the President and his wife kept up the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

This time the White House decorated the fountain in the front with green.
