A pregnant woman is already planning on having strict boundaries around her child once she gives birth. This has caused controversy online as people share their opinions.

Jackie O, the co-host of the "Kyle & Jackie O Show" podcast in Australia, revealed in one of the recent episodes that a woman is about to give birth to her first child and, therefore, wrote stringent rules for people wanting to meet her baby.

According to Jackie, the woman, pregnant with a baby girl, sent out a group announcement to everyone she knew, stating the rules she had put in place once the child was born.

The Australian television host read the first few words from the list while mentioning she would be reading them out loud word for word. The woman wrote:

"We will not be announcing her birth at all; this includes her name, the date, etc. If we want you to know, you'll know."

According to Jackie, the expectant mother said, those who have since kept in touch will be notified personally. "Otherwise, we have taken your silence as not being interested in our friendship, and it is also reciprocated," the mom-to-be penned.

No photos of the newborn will be posted on social media, "ever," and no one will be allowed to take pictures of her. No visitors will be allowed at the hospital or home for the first two weeks. "NO EXCEPTIONS. NO TEXT. NO CALLS,'"the note read.

The woman said those meeting her baby should be vaccinated and might even have to provide proof, adding they do not want to risk their child's health. "There'll be no kissing of the baby's face and no touching of her," said the woman. She added visitors should not smell cigarettes or wear a strong cologne or perfume when meeting the baby.

She mentioned that those coming over to her house should not expect to be hosted as she would still be tired and recovering therefore, they should bring their own snacks.

TikTok users flooded the comments section and expressed opposing views. While some supported the woman's stance, others mentioned that she didn't have to make a list.

"It's fine, boundaries are fine. The phrasing is a little off-putting, but the rules are fine," commented one follower. "How is this bad? She's just setting clear boundaries; it's so fair," asked another.

Someone else penned, "The bottom line is: It doesn't really matter if you find it unreasonable or not. It's their baby, they make the rules." One person said they could relate to the boundaries, writing, "Grandparents here. Happened to us. It was heartbreaking."

Meanwhile, another individual stated, "I think the text is the most ridiculous. Well wishes? Bringing food over? Saying good luck?" However, one said, "All good rules, but writing and sending a list? [It] Seems like it's more a jab at the people she feels weren't involved in her pregnancy."

One fellow parent expressed she felt conflicted about the rules, saying, "Honestly, I'm at a crossroad. On one hand, I'm saying 'get over yourself,' but as a mother myself, I am saying 'you go, girl, set those boundaries!'"

In addition, someone revealed she had similar boundaries. "And my MIL still rudely asked if she had to go outside to have a smoke!!!! [...] I had preemie twins," the person wrote.

Another woman shared what she would request from those she knows once she has her baby. The TikTok user, named Maise Crompton, posted a clip of her rules in June 2022 on the platform, which she captioned, "Seen so many of these videos...here's my 'rules for when I have a baby.'"

At the top of her list of rules, Crompton said people should not kiss her child. Secondly, they should not go to her place unannounced because she would not be up for socializing. She also requested they not announce the baby's arrival on social media or pictures.

Crompton also stated people should not visit her if sick and should wash their hands before touching the infant. Moreover, they should refrain from asking about the newborn if they have not checked on her throughout her pregnancy.
