A woman named Brittany received backlash when a photo of her posing with a dead leopard she killed herself became viral on Instagram.

Several celebrities slammed the woman for killing the animal. They urged their fans to condemn big-game hunting and to give the woman the shame she deserved for killing an innocent animal.

The stars who shared the picture include Kyle Richards, Naomi Campbell, and Doutzen Kroes.

The picture first came to light after it was shared by the co-founder of “Knot on my Planet,” David Bonnouvrier, on his Instagram page.

His organization’s mission is to put a stop to ivory poaching. Upon seeing the picture of Brittany, Bonnouvrier urged his followers to call the Safari Club International, where the woman was a member, to put a stop to their cruel acts.

"A very large male Leopard recently killed by Britany L, member of the Safari Club International based in Tucson, AZ. Call them and give them a piece of your mind," wrote Bonnouvrier on the caption.

The image shows the woman, only known as Brittany, flashing a big smile as she carries the big animal. Reports revealed that the photo came from the Safari Club’s website called “SCI Record Book.”

The site serves as a place for members to share images of their successful hunt to brag about their killings.

The photo gained media attention when supermodel Campbell reposted Bonnouvrier’s post. She also encouraged her fans to call the international hunting organization and attack them for killing innocent animals.

Later on, other stars including Dutch supermodel Kroes and writer Carré Otis shared the same post to raise awareness about the disturbing issue.

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Richards also gave her two cents and said, "I know this is upsetting to see but, if we don’t speak up, this will never stop.”

This wouldn’t be the first time a person was slammed on social media for big-game hunting.

In July 2018, American trophy hunter Tess Thompson Talley was called out by many online users for sharing a smiling picture of herself with a rare, black giraffe she killed.
